The area in and around South Woodstock offers a wide
array of activities year-round.
In the winter, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails network the area. Horse-drawn
sleigh rides are offered
on the farm or at the local stable. Top-class downhill ski areas are located within easy driving distance.
In summer visit any of several golf
courses nearby. Tennis
and squash courts are just minutes away. Canoe
or kayak on one of
the many lakes or rivers in our area. Bike the miles
of trails and roads, paved and unpaved, hike, fly-fish, trap
shoot ... the possibilities
are endless.
There are many excellent restaurants nearby, and a
wide array of cultural
events. Our helpful staff is happy to
suggest activities particularly suited to you and your family's
interests.

Enjoy rifle and pistol shooting
at our local gun club. Trap and sporting clays are also available.

The nearby Woodstock Country Club offers what Boston Magazine has called "a golfing experience that approaches perfection," a 6,000-yard, 18-hole, par-70 golf course, designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. There are numerous courses in the area.

Trail riding on horseback and carriage rides are available locally, or bring your own horse and board at our barn during your stay.

The Union Arena in Woodstock offers an indoor ice rink at different times year-round. It's a great place for family skating.

Snowshoeing is a quiet, peaceful way to explore the area during the snowy months.

The Woodstock Inn Nordic Center grooms many miles of cross-country ski trails when the golf course is covered in snow. The Inn's Suicide Six Ski Area is known for great skiing in the Vermont countryside without the crowds.
